There's a "small craft warning" out on the LTE sea, and spy photos reveal more specs of the Samsung Craft (Samsung SCH-r900 ) LTE smartphone that has been confirmed to set sail on the MetroPCS waves.
New spy photos reveal a TouchWiz OS similiar to the Samsung Caliber with CDMA, AWS and LTE (for data only) connectivity. The Samsung Craft is a landscape QWERTY slider with a 3.2 megapixel camera, a Qualcomm chipset, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Samsung Craft is also expected to have a full HTML broswer and music player, selling for around $299 from MetroPCS.
LTE is coming to MetroPCS in Las Vergas and Fort Worth Texas by the end of this year. Analysts and bloggers are speculating that if MetroPCS beats the major carriers to LTE with their low priced prepaid everything plans, it may lower future pricing of super high-speed data.
Cricket recently released an Android smartphone the Sany Zio priced at $229 for its prepaid network, but it does not run on a high speed data network such as the EVO 4G or the well-reviewed Samsung Epic 4G.
Some are claiming the Samsung Craft is the first LTE phone, we can't tell yet, because no one has released an LTE phone yet.
