Droid R2-D2 Docked Ultimate Comlink Tech with R2-D2 Droid Dock

droid-2-r2-dock.jpgWe thought the Droid R2-D2 was the cutest device ever in the realm of Droidom. Now there's something even cuter - the Star Wars R2-D2 dock. It was found on the launch site for the Droid 2 R2-D2 to be released on September 30.

To find out more, the introductory website has set up a Star Wars game, titled, Droid R2-2: the Lost Plans. Luke Skywalker has created the the ultimate comlink technology based on his trusty astromech friend droid R2-D2. Plans for the device
are being transmitted to the worlds of the Alliance. The plans have
been intercepted. Luke has dispatched R2-D2 to help rebels on the earth
find the lost plans and complete construction of the device.

The special-edition R2-D2 Droid 2  really does look like R2-D2 in white with blue and gray markings showing the RD-D2 face.

The Droid 2 received good reviews.  Specs include Android 2.2 FroYo, 1GHz
processor, 8GB onboard memory, an 8GB microSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,  3.7 touchscreen and pre-installed with 
Verizon apps,
Skype Mobile, NFL Mobile, City ID and 3G Mobile Hotspot.

Verizon customers whose contracts end before 12/31 qualify for "an upgrade to
any smartphone, including DROID 2, without penalty."
