A recent Gomez study of over 1,000 US mobile internet users found that 58 percent of them expect websites to load as quickly on their mobile phone as they do on their desktops. In other words, companies should take heed and test their websites on as many devices as possible.
Comment from Wireless and Mobile News: The iPad has been known to do strange rendering a websites. After a major re-design in February, Wireless and Mobile News discovered a strange rendering of the full website on the iPad (click on the picture above for full view), the header graphic spilled off the page and columns shaded out. In our recent re-design by Gillian Symonds and JMParsons, our developer had to check in the iPad SDK for site compatibility. We were able to discover that iPad webpages designed for a screen width over 960 pixels had problems displaying including many of our sorry-looking competitors
