The high-end Android smartphone price wars are competing for sales in the T-Mobile and Verizon Galaxies. Both carriers are offering their versions of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphones in buy one get one free deals. T-Mobile is offering the Samsung Vibrant and Verizon is offering the Samsung Fascinate.
The Samsung Galaxy S phones all run Android 2.1 on a 1GHz Humming Bird processor, have a 4 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen and 5 megapixel camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S is currently available as the Samsung Captivate (read review) at AT&T, the Samsung Epic 4G (read review) at Sprint and the Samsung Vibrant at T-Mobile. The well-reviewed Samsung Fascinate starts pre-sale today on the Verizon website.
T-Mobile customers
who purchase a Samsung Vibrant receive a second Samsung Vibrant for
free after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement.
This could explain why Samsung reported that they had shipped over 1 million Samsung Galaxy S phones
to the United States. This offer is unprecedanted for such
newly-released phones, and will surely drive sales. Sales and discounted
prices have already been available on the Samsung Captivate from Amazon Wireless and Wirefly.
