iPhone, Droid and BlackBerry Curve Top Smartphones, Says MIllenial Media

Millenial Media has released their Mobile Mix report.  Android an' Droid smartphones are gaining market share.

Android is now the number two smartphone OS on the network.  Android increased 7% month-over-month to a 26% share of smartphone OS impressions on the network.

Motorola became the third largest device manufacturer on the network. The Motorola Droid moved up to the number two position in the August Top 20 Mobile Phones list with over 9% impression share.  Android smartphones represented six of the Top 20 Mobile Phones.

BlackBerry Data:

  • 53% of BlackBerry users have a college degree.
  • 115 Million BlackBerry smartphones sold globally.
  • 37% of visits to mobile websites in the US in Q2 were BlackBerry users.
  • 11 Milllion BlackBerry smartphones were sold in the last quarter.
  • Average income of a BlackBerry user is 13% higher than the smartphone average.
  • 45% of BlackBerry users are women.

Apple, the leading device manufacturer on the network since September 2009, accounted for 29% share of all device impressions on our network.

Smartphone impression share increased 3% month-over-month and represented 51% of the U.S. Smartphone, Feature Phone & Connected Device Impression share in August.

Android ad requests increased 39% month-over-month.  Since January, Android has grown 996%.

RIM ad requests increased 16% month-over-month.  RIM's OS experienced a 3% increase month-over month and is the third largest on the network.

iPad ad requests increased 76% month-over-month.
