More Details About Droid R2-D2 Exclusive Verizon Store Promotions: Limited Supply – Free Posters & T-Shirts

It has been confirmed from Verizon's PR rep that the Droid RD2-D2 has the same 1GHz processor as the Droid 2 will only be available in-store at "exclusive" locations nationwide. It will also be available online. Only limited supplies of the Droid RD2-D2 will be available.

We have not been able to confirm what "limited supply" means. In the Los Angeles area, the Droid R2-D2 will only be exclusive to the Santa Monica Verizon store.

They expect Star War fans to be dressed up in Star Wars costumes as they line up for the stores to open. Some stores are having costume contests.

Customers who buy any Droid smartphone at a Verizon store on Sept. 30 will get a free limited edition R2-D2 T-shirt and poster.

The Droid R2-D2 has a 3.7-inch touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 8GB onboard memory, an 8GB microSD, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

You can get the Droid R2-D2 online at the Verizon website and in exclusive Verizon Wireless Communication stores beginning Sept. 30. The Droid R2-D2, by Motorola, is packaged in a custom box resembling carbonite and will come with a Star Wars media dock and wired stereo headset.
