Samsung Galaxy S Update: Samsung Fascinate Update Fixes Syncing and Search While Talking

Almost all of the Samsung Galaxy S phones are getting updates.  Verizon Wireless announced a new software update for the Samsung Fascinate.

The Samsung (i500.DI01) update improvements include instant Visual Voice Mail notification on the messaging bar, better email syncing, faster 3G switching, search during calls, and the No Service audio alert has been removed.

Samsung Fascinate Improvements:

  • Instant notification of Visual Voice Mail messages on your messaging bar.
  • Improved syncing between your phone and email accounts.
  • Prompt notification when switching to Airplane mode.
  • Faster switching to 3G services from 1x.
  • Easily search your phone during calls.
  • Improved Enterprise Exchange password alerts.
  • No Service audio alert removed.

On Wednesday AT&T released a minor update for the other Samsung Galaxy S Android phone, the Samsung Captivate.  Sprint also announced an update to the Samsung Epic 4G that also includes a 3G fix.Before updating your Samsung Fascinate, make sure that you have at least 40% battery life and that you do not need to make phone calls.

Samsung Electronics expects to sell up to 25 million smartphones by the close of 2010.  They have already shipped 1 million Samsung Galaxy S phones to the United States.
