Walmart announced they will offer an unlimited Talk and Text service from T-Mobile called Walmart Family Mobile, powered by T-Mobile, starting September 20.
Walmart Family Mobile is $45 per month, and each additional line is only $25
per month. Each account comes with 100MB of web access that can be used for any or all of the family's wireless accounts. Data usage can be pre-purchased at the rate of $40 per gigabyte.
Walmart Family Mobile will offer phones for the whole
family from Samsung, Motorola and Nokia, including phones with the
Android Operating System, QWERTY keyboard, touch screens and other
features. Since there is no annual contract, customers can upgrade
anytime by purchasing a new handset with no extra fees or contract
commitment.
Starting Monday, they will sell five phones, including the Android Motorola Cliq XT, for $249.
Activated accounts come with a free preloaded 100MB WebPak, which
provides access to the internet for every line of service. The WebPak is
shared among all lines on an account and unused data never
expires. Additional WebPak refill cards are purchased. The WebPak can also be used to make international calls to several countries for as low as 5 cents per minute, as well as to download ringtones, games and other apps.
