One of the two flip-style Android 2.1 smartphones announced today by AT&T, is the Motorola Flipout with a 720MHz processor that flips out of a purse, pocket or palm.  The touchscreen pivot design opens to reveal a full keyboard below its touchscreen with a dedicated fifth row for numbers.  Features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooh, FM radio, 3 megapixel camera, 512MB internal memory with removable 2GB MicroSD card (included); supports up to 32GB microSD.

The Motorola Flipout can be customized to match the color of your mood with the two interchangeable battery covers that come in the box - Dark Sapphire and Saffron.  And for those really looking to mix it up, additional colors such as Fairway Green, Poppy Red, Raspberry Crush, Brilliant Blue, Rebel Pink and Black Licorice will be available for purchase in AT&T stores and online.

The Motorola Flipout comes with new, enhanced Motoblur that includes many new features.

The Motorola Flipout comes equipped with an improved virtual keyboard, voice to text, Adobe Flash Lite 3 and access to thousands of apps on Android Market.  The 3-megapixel camera has KODAK PERFECT TOUCH technology, gallery mode for tagging and labelling photos, and instant upload access to Facebook, MySpace, Picasa and Photobucket.

The Motorola FLIPOUT with CrystalTalk PLUS uses a proprietary Motorola process of microphone and speaker configuration; CrystalTalkPLUS adds a second microphone that improves voice quality even further while filtering out background noise.

Motorla Flipout will be available for $79.99 with a two-year service agreement and two-year smartphone data plan beginning October 17 in AT&T stores, online and in business channels. (No rebate required)

Other Motorola Android phones announced at CTIA are the Droid Pro, Motorola Spice, Motorola Citrus, Motorola Bravo and Motorola Flipside.
