The Android G2 goes on sale today at T-Mobile for current T-Mobile customers who will get it in October.  Other customers will have to wait.

The T-Mobile G2 has a 3.7-inch touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, 800 MHz Snapdragon MSM7230 processor, 5 megapixel HD video camera, music player and 8GB microSD memory pre-installed (supporting up to 32GB).  The G2 is T-Mobile's first 4G HSPA+ smartphone.

The T-Mobile G2 is built on Android 2.2.  The T-Mobile G2 is optimized for websites, applications and videos.

The T-Mobile G2 has the new Voice Actions feature of Google Search, which allows you to control your phone with your voice for calling contacts and businesses, sending messages, browsing the Web, listening to music and completing common tasks.  It also offers integrated access to Google Voice, allowing users to create a new account using their current mobile number right from the home screen.

More features of the T-Mobile G2:

T-Mobile USA's HSPA+ network currently offers theoretical peak download speeds of 21Mb/s, with plans to increase speeds to 42Mb/s in 2011.  However, the G2 device has a theoretical top capability of 14.4Mb/s.

Current T-Mobile customers will get exclusive access to preorder the G2 starting later this month.
