Update Demanded for Droid 2 Voice Actions, Sycning, Media & More Glitches

Droid 2 Voice actions.JPGAndroid has gotten more powerful than ever and more complaints from users who want an update.  The Motorola Droid X to Android 2.2 had problems acknowledged by Motorola, causing the company to work on another update.  Now Droid 2 users are demanding an update for Voice Action security flaws and other annoying glitches.

Update 10/18/10 - There are rumors that Motorola and Verizon will be pushing out an update to Droid 2 that fixes Microsoft Exchange issues, similar to the Droid X update. A support tech instant messaged  a customer that the update to 2.3.15 for the Droid 2 has been released.

A Droid 2 user reported that voice commands initiated from holding the search key or the soft keyboard key work even when the Droid 2 is locked.  At the "enter your passcode screen," when either key is held and voice command is made, the Droid 2 executes the command, such as "call Joe."  The problem was first reported in the official Droid 2 Forum by Motorola.

Problems reported in the Droid 2 Forum with the Droid 2 include:

  • Email syncing problems.
  • Media player freezes.
  • Microsoft Exchange compatibility issues.
  • Issues with multiple email accounts.
  • Security flaw of Google Actions usable on the lock screen.
  • Bluetooth glitches.
  • Wi-Fi issues in WPA2 AES, but works with WEP.

Droid 2 owners are requested to join the Motorola feedback network to help fix the problems.

The well-reviewed Droid 2 comes in a basic black model and a special limited-edtion Droid R2-D2 with special Star Wars content.
