This month, for the first time, Android has tied iOS as the largest
Smartphone OS, with an 8% increase month-over-month and 37% impression
share, reported the Millennial Media's Mobile Mix. Android is gaining in the top phone lists, with the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant coming in at number seven.
Here's what they found:
- Apple, the leading device manufacturer on our network for the last 13 months, accounted for a 25% share of impressions.
- Motorola became the number three manufacturer and
held a 15% impression share. Two new Motorola phone, the Droid 2 and
Droid X, debuted on the Top 30 Mobile Model list. - Android is gaining in the top phone lists with the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant coming in at number seven.
- RIM BlackBerry smartphones represented six of the Top 30 Mobile
Devices, with the BlackBerry Curve overtaking the Motorola Droid for the
number two position. RIM ad requests grew 43% month-over-month. - Reporting now includes Connected Devices, which are defined as
non-phone Wi-Fi devices. The Apple iPod Touch, Apple iPad and Sony PSP
made up three of the Top 30 Mobile Devices. iPad requests increased 112%
month-over-month.
