Droid Update News: Droid Incredible Update with V CAST & Media Improvements

DroidIncredible update.JPGStarting next week, the Verizon HTC Droid Incredible will be getting an over-the-air (OTA) update with software enhancements. 

The Droid Incredible update 3.26.605.1 will include Verizon's V CAST apps for the Droid Incredible that can be billed directly to the user's Verizon phone bill.  The update improves the Flash player, Visual Voice Wi-Fi, Yahoo! IMAP email, Slacker radio, YouTube, Google maps orientation switching, and button order.  The update Increases attached file sizes to larger than 5MB.

The well-reviewed Droid Incredible has been a constant top seller for Verizon and originally sold out within a few days of its release.  Now Verizon is heavily promoting the Droid Incredible, with "buy one get up to three" select phones free promotions.

When updating any Droid phone, be sure that your battery is at
40% charged and that you have at least 25 minutes to wait for the
process to complete.  Just in case, you should also backup your
contacts, photos, and note what software you had installed.

Wi-Fi connectivity is faster and less likely to have data
corruption.  During the update, you can't make or receive calls,
including emergency calls.

You can install the update when you get a nofitication or check for it in the Droid Incredible menus.

How to Install:

  1. From the main menu, click on Menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select About phone.
  4. Select System updates.
  5. Select Download to continue with the download of the update.
  6. Once the download is complete, select Install now.
  7. When Software installation is complete, select OK.
