RealNetworks will launch Unifi, a cloud media storage service for music, videos and photos for streaming to PCs and smartphones. Unifi is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2011, with apps for iPhone, Android and PCs, followed by apps for BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 in the second quarter. They call it a "unified library for your digital life."
Unifi was demoed by RealNetworks CEO Bob Kimbal at Dive into Mobile.
The forerunner to the Unifi is the latest RealPlayer that lets users play, sync and share
photos, videos and music across many platforms. It not only offers
one-click video downloading and transferring to mobile phones, but now
it allows users to move media off their mobiles into their RealPlayer
library.
