Next Nexus Android Smartphone from Google - Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, GPU & NFC

Samsung and Google have partnered for the first Android 2.3 Gingerbread phone, the Nexus S.  The now defunct Nexus One was launched last year over the holidays with an exclusive webstore.  The Nexus S is a GSM phone that will be available unlocked without a carrier at Best Buy on December 16.

The new slant on the Nexus S is that the 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen (800 x 400) is curved so that it fits your face better when used as a phone.  The Nexus S also has NFC (Near Field Communications) for wireless-data reading and payments from the the phone.  Other features include 1GHz Samsung application processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera/camcorder, VGA front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 1500 mAh battery.

The video claims that the Nexus S is about getting a "pure Google experience."

The Nexus S has a gyroscope sensor to provide a smooth, fluid
gaming experience when you're tilting the device up or down or
panning the phone to the left or right.

A 1GHz Hummingbird processor paired with 16GB of internal memory makes Nexus S one of the fastest phones on the market.

Nexus S has a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).
