What a year for smartphones. Every carrier - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile - had models of smartphones appear in the Wireless and Mobile News' Top Ten Best Smartphones Review of Reviews. T-Mobile tied with AT&T for the total number of smartphones that appear in the top ten list. Most of the Android list toppers were Android-powered, including two also-rans with Microsoft operating systems. First Place is a Samsung Galaxy S Phone.
Here are the top best coolest smartphones from T-Mobile:
5. HTC HD2 - this also-ran for a while was the only smartphone with a 4.3-inch touchscreen that received fabulous reviews. However, the operating system of the HTC HD2, Windows Mobile, is no longer supported by app development and has been replaced by Windows Phone 7.
5. HTC HD7 - this also-ran replaces the HTC HD2 and has many of the same features; including a 4.3-inch touchscreen. Reviewers of the HTC HD7 liked the large 4.3" touchscreen, kickstand, media viewing, music quality and fast performance.
4. Google Nexus One - this was the
first smartphone to be sold directly by Google from a webstore. They
were able to keep it a secret until it launched in January. It received
great reviews for the operating system, but there were support issues
and network problems. AT&T had its own version, and Verizon was also
supposed to launch one, but never did. We expect that the new well-reviewed "Pure Google" Nexus S will be more popular since it is a revamp of the popular Samsung Galaxy S .
4. Motorola Defy - this smartphone appeared on Oprah
Winfrey's popular television show. It is scratch and water-resistant as
well as dust proof. Released in November, it's considered a mid-level
smartphone with great call quality but poor photo quality.
3. T-Mobile myTouch 4G - there's plenty to love, including "4G"
speed, design and call quality. As of this writing, the myTouch 4G is
available in Black, Red or White for $49 at Amazon Wireless with a new contract.
3. LG Optimus T, - free with the T-Mobile web-only discount, this budget-minded smartphone has been highly rated for first-time smartphone buyers.
2. T-Mobile G2 - this smartphone has an excellent QWERTY keyboard, speed and features. Reviewers
loved Android 2.2, the great call quality and fast data speeds. It sells
for $199 with a contract from T-Mobile and is discounted form Amazon Wireless.
1. Samsung Vibrant - the most praised features of the Samsung Vibrant
are the super AMOLED touchscreen, preloaded entertainment (Avatar movie
and SIM 3 game) and synching abilities. One of the first of the Samsung Galaxy S phone series, the Vibrant's price has recently been reduced by T-Mobile to $99 with a contract for the web-only discount.
