Hulu is going to expand its Hulu Plus subscription service to Android smartphones in a few months.
During Samsung's keynote at CES, Hulu CEO Jason Kilar announced
for the first time that Hulu is working to bring the Hulu Plus
subscription service to select Android phones (running Android 2.2),
and he gave the audience a sneak peek at the Hulu Plus Android app during
the presentation.
Hulu Plus will be available on select Android mobile
phones in coming months. They will announce further details, an official launch date and complete list of Hulu Plus-enabled
Android phones. Video services, such as Netflix, have had problems with implementing digital rights for movies and TV shows on Android phones.
Hulu Plus is now available on Vizio internet-connected HDTVs, and it is coming soon to Vizio Blu-ray players.
Hulu also announced an agreement to bring Hulu Plus to Haier
internet-connected HDTVs and Blu-ray players later this year.
