Motorola Atrix with no fire.jpgHeated rumors about smartphones before they launch can ignite responses from manufacturers.  Wireless and Mobile News did not report the rumors that the Droid Bionic and Motorola Atrix, new 4G smartphones from Motorola, had the burning issue of over heating.

Motorola contacted a blogger known for reporting such inflammatory rumors and confirmed that neither the Droid Bionic or Motorola Atrix has "over-heating issues" and that they will ship as scheduled.

Sometimes those in-the-know can slip up.  Amazon Wireless briefly showed pricing details for the Motorola Atrix with a $149.99 price tag that later disappeared.

Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha, during a conference call, confirmed that that the Motorola Atrix will be launched in late February.  The Motorola Xoom may not come out until March.  The Droid Bionic is slated to be released on Verizon at the end of the second quarter.
