A review of news sources shows that almost every news source suspects that Verizon will make an announcement introducing the Verizon iPhone tomorrow.
Last Friday, reports began appearing in the news centering on there being a Verizon iPhone. Today, news centers on whether or not the Verizon network can handle iPhone traffic with an unlimited data plan. The Wall Street Journal reported today that Verizon is "confident enough in its network that it will offer unlimited data plans when it starts selling the iPhone at the end of this month," a person familiar wit the matter said.
Verizon is expected to start selling iPhones either at the end of January or February 3. Many bloggers will be live blogging from the Verizon announcement at 11 am EST January 11 in New York. We will keep you posted as to official news.
It is not clear if the Verizon iPhone will be 3G or 4G LTE. Jack Gold,
an analyst at J. Gold Associates, said he expects Verizon
to announce a dual-mode iPhone for CDMA/LTE because the LTE network
won't be complete for more
than two years.
Another factor ensuring that there is an iPhone
coming from Verizon is that, on the Verizon's Twitter feed, Jan tweeted
Verizon information from an iPhone app at CES last week. The employee
could have had an AT&T iPhone....
With thousands of reports
written and no official word yet from Verizon, we can't be absolutely
certain as to what Verizon will be doing.
Analysts are already agog in predictions. RBC Capital Markets Managing Director Mike Abramsky reported. that Verizon Wireless may sell 9-10 million iPhones in 2011. Abramsky believes that Steve Jobs may show up at the Verizon event tomorrow.
In addition to the iPhone predictions, some suggest that there will also be Verizon CDMA iPads with an iPad 2 retina display.
