Nexus S News: Nexus S Teardown Shows Hardware But Not Fast Android Updates

Nexus S teardown.JPGThe Nexus S, a Samsung Galaxy S phone, without the all the Samsung Galaxy added Media and Social Hub software, is a "pure Google" phone with many features of current smartphones.  The Nexus S has been taken apart to show the hardware inside.

We found that reviewers mostly liked the Nexus S but were not blown away by its hardware.  Tech Republic tore the Nexus S apart (see photo) and concurred with their reviewer who said "The Nexus S just doesn't offer enough important
hardware upgrades from the Nexus One to make up for the lower build
quality."

To the nontechnical naked eye, the inside of the Nexus S looks like most other Android an' Droid smartphones.

In other Nexus S news, it has been reported that the Nexus S will also come with a white back in some countries.  The Nexus S has NFC capabilities that have been hacked to use NFC tags.
The best thing about the Nexus S is that it comes with the newest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread with loads of new features
The other really nice feature of the Nexus S is that updates are
released much sooner.  While only one Samsung Galaxy S phone in the U.S.
has gotten an update to Android 2.2 Froyo (Samsung Vibrant), the Nexus S already has received an SMS glitch fix update.
