Update 02/03/11 - We've reviewed all the reviews and comparisons for the Verizon iPhone 4 Review of Reviews.
Update 02/2/11: Verizon has announced that all preordered iPhone 4 smartphones will be shipped to arrive on or before Feb. 10.
At launch, the Verizon iPhone 4 will require an unlimited data plan for $29.99 a month, the same as is required for Droid, Samsung Galaxy S, Android and BlackBerry smartphones on the Verizon network. A two-year contract is also required. Tethering as a modem and Wi-Fi hotspots will cost an additional $20 for 2GB.
The wireless hotspot feature on the Verizon iPhone 4 will
allow you to use the device as a sort of portable Wi-Fi router for up to
five devices. Each additional gigabyte or part of a gigabyte will cost another $20.
Voice plans are also the same as for other Verizon smartphones - $39.99/mo. for 450 mins., $59.99/mo for 900 mins, and
$69.99 for unlimited. Family SharePlans start at $69.99 for 700 mins,
$89.99 for 1,400 mins, $99.99 for 2,000 mins and $119.99 for unlimited.
The plans were revealed for a short time on the Apple website and then were removed.
The Verizon iPhone was announced earlier this month. First-look reviews were positive.
Some believe that the greatest competition on the Verizon network to
the iPhone 4 will be the Droid Bionic and HTC Thunderbolt, which are both LTE
smartphones, as well as future model Droid phones. Verizon holiday phone
buyers are eligible for a $200 gift card when paying full price for the iPhone 4.
