There is so much media in our lives, and for many of us, multiple devices - smartphones, computers, and tablets. How can you get your media synched across platforms?
Funambol announced its new MediaHub software to sync media (pictures, video
and music), files, contacts and calendars across
smartphones, tablets, PCs and mobile devices via the cloud. The software simplifies the synching of multiple device types, including
sharing media on an iPhone or BlackBerry with an Android tablet.
MediaHub syncs
media and data with enterprise systems, such as Outlook and file servers,
mobile devices, and cloud services, such as
Facebook, Flickr and Picasa. Unlike clouds from Google and Facebook, MediaHub
assets are not inherently mined for marketing purposes. The software includes
core-device management functions to assist cross-device synching.
Funambol is
debuting MediaHub at Mobile World Congress (booth #1J46, Hall 1). "MediaHub is the Swiss Army knife of cloud-based media sharing," said
Amit Chawla, Funambol CEO. MediaHub syncs the widest variety of data across the broadest
array of devices, uniquely supported by Funambol's global mobile open-source
community.
Funambol MediaHub is scheduled to be available in Q2, 2011.
