HTC ThunderBolt Delayed, Priceless $249 or $299? National Retail Exclusive

BestBuyThunderBOLT 2 withtesxt.jpgRumors about the HTC ThunderBolt are lightning fast.  They come and go in a flash with prices and release dates changing quickly.  Sources seldom are revealed.  One blog today quoted a source called tippy the tipster, who requested to be anonymous.  Tippy said that  Verizon wants the "launch to be perfect and will delay the HTC ThunderBolt launch because of Skype."  A Best Buy document this morning noted that the HTC ThunderBolt release is delayed and that it will release without Skype.

Reading the Best Buy Sunday circular and Best Buy Mobile Buyer's Guide today revealed some interesting news - two different prices and an exclusive.  The Best Buy Mobile Buyers Guide shows the price of the HTC ThunderBolt to be $299, with the title "New National Retail Exclusive" and Skype-enabled.  The Best Buy Weekly circular shows the HTC ThunderBolt to cost $249.99 "After Savings."
We called the Best Buy Mobile toll-free number and the rep told us, "We noticed the discrepancy in prices today for the HTC ThunderBolt, and we are not sure what happened with that yet and what the price will be."

We called a local Best Buy Store and an associate told us, "We don't know when the HTC ThunderBolt is coming out or what the price will be."

Friday research via Google Trends revealed a very hot buzz for the HTC ThunderBolt.  The best way Best Buy is getting buzz is by unclear pricing and release dates.
