Palm Pre News: HP Pre 3 Touches Touchstone & TouchPad

HP Pre3.JPGThe name Palm has been replaced with HP for the next Palm Pre, the HP Pre3, was announced today.  The HP Pre3 has a bigger and better touchscreen, more processing power and a new keyboard.  A new synergy feature is the ability to tap the HP TouchPad to transfer text messages, URL addresses and even phone calls.

HP is marketing the new HP Pre3 with HP webOS 2.2 to professionals who want mobile and personal productivity. 

The HP Pre3 is a QWERTY portrait slider with a 3.6-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, front-facing camera for video calling, 5MP camera with autofocus/HD video, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, world phone capabilities, and 1230mAh battery.  The processor is a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM 8x55.

The HP Pre has synergy built-in and will have synergy with the HP TouchPad.  The TouchPad can take the HP Pre3 's phone calls.  The HP Pre3 will come in 8GB and 16GB versions this summer.

HP Pre3's high-performance web browser offers support for HTML5 features and Adobe Flash Player 10.1 beta.
HP Pre3 also supports the HP mobile hotspot, enabling your phone to act as
a mobile Wi-Fi router so you can share wireless internet connectivity
with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices, including the new HP TouchPad, as
well as notebooks, gaming devices and portable media players.

HP Pre3 is compatible out of the box with HP Touchstone (sold separately). 
The webOS Exhibition feature lets you run apps designed specifically for
HP Touchstone - showing you anything from today's agenda to a slideshow
of your photos - turning charge time into useful time.  You can share URL between your HP Pre3 and an HP TouchPad simply by tapping them together.  Start reading a website or blog on a TouchPad and then tap your smartphone to take it to go.

HP also announced the HP Veer and HP TouchPad.
