- Motorola Verizon Profit Partnership - Motorola received $3.22 Billion or 28 percent of its total revenue from Verizon. CEO Sanjay Jha is concerned with competition from the Verizon iPhone 4 and forged a new partnership with AT&T.
- The well-reviewed Motorola Atrix, a smartphone with many docks, goes on sale today for $199 from AT&T . At Amazon Wireless it is already on backorder and discounted to $129.99 for new
customers and $149.99 for renewing customers with a contract. The "backorder" status of the Motorola Atrix may foretell brisk sales and a sellout.
- FCC 911 - The FCC is investigating why Verizon failed to connect
10,000 911 calls on January 26. Verizon reported that there was a “911
routing system issue” that failed to connect 911 calls from many
wireless carriers. Verizon said that they are addressing the issue and will
cooperate with the FCC. - Adobe confirmed that the Motorola Xoom tablet will not have Adobe Flash support for a few weeks.
