Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer revealed the future of Windows Phone 7 at Mobile World Congress. The update for Windows Phone 7 will be released in early March with copy/paste functions. Windows Phone 7 smartphones will be coming to Sprint and Verizon this year.
IE9 (Internet Explorer 9) will be available for Windows Phone 7 in the second half of 2011, offering "a dramatically enhanced mobile web browsing." Other features due in the future of Windows Phone 7 are Twitter integration in the People Hub, cloud support for Microsoft Office documents, and new multitasking apps in 2011. There will be lots of Nokia Windows Phones in 2012.
The Windows Phone 7 cloud will be used for SkyDrive, free online sharing of Microsoft Office documents.
Microsoft sets the rules for the handset makers who make Windows Phone 7 smartphones. Therefore, every Windows Phone has a dedicated camera button that can be used even if the phone functionality is locked. The feature is helpful for taking photos at a moment's notice.
Microsoft has cultivated developers for Windows Phone Marketplace and the Xbox Live gaming platform. There are now PAC-Man, Tetris and Full House Poker Xbox Live gaming apps.
