After much conjecture about the FCC approval of HSUPA for the HTC Inspire, it has been officially confirmed by the AT&T Facebook wall that both the Motorola Atrix and HTC Inspire will be upgraded to HSUPA in April. The two super Android smartphones were launched without the HSUPA radios activated.
HSUPA speeds should reach up to 5.76Mbps, but since it has not been activated, users were reporting slow data speeds and made complaints to the Better Business Bureau.
The well-reviewed Motorola Atrix won the CTIA E-Tech Award for best smartphone but has voice muffling issues. It is discounted to $129.99 for new
customers and $149.99 for renewing customers with a contract and at Amazon Wireless.
In many ways, the HTC Inspire is most like the HTC ThunderBolt, which has much faster speeds from Verizon's 4G LTE network.
Reviewers all agreed that the price of $99 for the HTC Inspire with a contract is a great
value for super high-end features that rival the iPhone in some
aspects.
Amazon Wireless is selling the HTC Inspire for $59.99 for new customers and $69.99 for renewing customers with a contract.
Both the smartphones appear in Wireless and Mobile News Review of Reviews Top Ten Best Android an' Droid Phones Now an' Later.
