ChangeWave Research took a look at tablet demand, future buying preferences and customer satisfaction via a survey. There is a huge demand for tablets that iPad dominates with high satisfaction, and there's a vast majority planning to buy one in the future.
ChangeWave Research found tablet demand is very high, with 1 in 4 stating that they are planing to buy a tablet in the future and with 5% of those surveyed saying that they will purchase a tablet in the next 90 days.
A vast majority (82%) say that they'll be buying an Apple iPad, but other tablets don't fare as well, with the Motorola Xoom (4%), RIM Playbook (3%) and Samsung Galaxy Tab (3%).
As far as the type of iPad data access,
respondents preferred AT&T with 24% indicating that AT&T Wireless
is favored, Verizon Wireless is favored by 17%, 19% prefer Wi-Fi, and
30% are undecided/not sure.
The iPad's satisfaction rating is very high, with
70% saying that they're Very Satisfied and 25% Somewhat Satisfied with the
Apple iPad.
ChangeWave surveyed 3,091 consumers on tablet demand and future buying
trends, including customer satisfaction, tablet cannibalization of
other electronic devices, and consumer preference for wireless tablet
services. The survey was completed just before the Apple's iPad 2
announcement.
According to the survey findings, the two product lines most vulnerable to the tablet onslaught are eReaders and laptops. Read more about the ChangeWave survey.
