Yesterday, we learned that the well-reviewed Motorola Atrix won the CTIA E-Tech Award for best smartphone.
Today, we learned that Motorola is investigating "issues" with voice quality. Voices sound muted and muffled. Motorola is also offering a sneak peak of the software OS update for a select few who register.
The Motorola Atrix Forum Manager posted, "We've been looking into it for some time however we've only recently
gotten phones back from customers. The users we asked to volunteer their
phone were either unwilling or had already returned it. No indication
currently as to the cause.? The voice muffled problem could
caused by the case, a screen protector, location, facial hair, location
of microphone, obstruction of the microphone on the back, signal
strength, geographical location of phone and turning on the speaker
phone."
The forum manager asked users to report what they have found.
There is a software update in the works for the Motorola Atrix. You have until tomorrow 11am CST 3/35 to sign up to get the prerelease of the first software update for Motorola Atrix,
before it is officially released to all customers. They are recruiting
1,000 Motorola Atrix owners to test and provide feedback on the update.
The Motorola Atrix was called revolutionary when it debuted at CES
and won many awards. After testing it, all reviewers gave high ratings
for the speedy dual-core processor, beautiful touchscreen and docks.
