The closest competitor to the iPad 2 is the Motorola Xoom tablet on Verizon, which has a lower overall price with data than the iPad 2. The Motorola Xoom received good reviews. It will be upgradeable to Verizon's 4G LTE "blazing fast" data speeds and will be getting a beta release of the Adobe Flash Player 10.2 for Android 3.0 Honeycomb on March 18.
There will also be an update to Flash 10.2 for Android smartphones/tablets running Android 2.2 and 2.3 on March 18.
The iPad 2 does not support Adobe Flash at all. Beta Flash Player for Honeycomb will have acclerated smooth playback of high-definition Flash video content on the web. It offers reduced CPU usage and higher frame rates for existing H.264 video content.
Adobe reported that deeper integration of Flash Player and the Android 3.0 browser
delivers faster and better rendering of interactive web content with a more PC-like browsing.
The beta Flash Player will render content as part of the webpage along with other part,s such as HTML, images and gif animation. As a result, there will be improved scrolling of web pages.
Flash Player rendered content will continue to be placed in a separate window on top of HTML in the Android 2.2 and 2.3 browsers because the browsers do not support the new Android 3.0 rendering.
Adobe has also improved performance for dual-core processor-based Android tablets and smartphones, including the Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Xoom and LG Optimus 2X.
In addition to its availability on Android Market, the production GA release of Flash Player 10.2 will also be available pre-installed on many upcoming tablets and smartphones or delivered as an over-the-air (OTA) update to existing devices in the market.
