Next 4G LTE Verizon Smartphone: Samsung Galaxy S Samsung Droid Stealth Charge 4G Bests HTC ThunderBolt with Super AMOLED?

Samsunglte4G.JPG While many lust after the HTC ThunderBolt, there is another 4G LTE smartphone on the Verizon horizon, the Samsung Stealth, also referred to as the Samsung 4G LTE Smartphone (aka SCH-i510 Samsung Droid Stealth or Samsung Droid Charge 4G).  Verizon execs confirmed that the 4G LTE Verizon network is on track to be accessible by the end of the second quarter.

Update 04/15/11 - The Samsung Stealth has a new name the  Samsung Droid Charge and more features.

The Samsung Droid Stealth may see the light of smartphone days in April.  When the Samsung Droid Stealth 4G is released, it will run Android 2.2 Froyo and will also have 4G LTE "blazing fast" data speeds.

So should you wait for it?  Let's compare the Samsung Stealth vs the HTC ThunderBolt:

The Samsung Droid Stealth will be the first 4.3" touchscreen Android smartphone with Super AMOLED Plus brilliance.  Since the HTC ThunderBolt release date keeps getting pushed later, it may be worth waiting a few weeks just for the Super AMOLED Plus screen if you are a video fan.  Some people have found that the quality of a Super AMOLED is so intense, they don't need to use their glasses when reading text on a Super AMOLED screen.
The Samsung Droid Stealth will have a 1500mAh battery that should last 8-10 hours.  The HTC ThunderBolt has a 1400mAh battery.

The Samsung Droid Stealth and HTC ThunderBolt both have 8MP rear-facing cameras, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 1GHz processors.  The Samsung Stealth will have an HDMI out port, while the HTC ThunderBolt only has DLNA connectivity.

We do know that the HTC ThunderBolt will have HTC Sense, which some reviewers prefer, while the Samsung Droid Stealth will have Samsung TouchWhiz and hubs.  It will be a subjective choice to see which interface you prefer.

The SamsungDroid Stealth 4G LTE smartphone has access to Samsung's Media
Hub content service that's available on the 4G LTE network, which offers
a collection of premium movies and TV episodes.  It also has Samsung's
Social Hub, built around messaging, contacts and calendar sync, allowing users to send and receive information, whether it is email,
social network updates or text messages.

The internal storage on the Droid Charge is 6GB less the 8GB of internal storage on the HTC ThunderBolt.  The HTC ThunderBolt allows mobile hotspots for up to 8 devices, two less than the Droid Charge.

For people who are patient and can wait a few months, you will have many more choices for Android smartphones on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, incluidng the LG Revolution.
