TS2R Wireless News: More Android Dev Jobs, Bing Deals, InFlight PC Texts 2 Ground, Twitter and Google Maps Updated

Verizon iPad 2 out March 11 - Verizon Wireless has announced via its SoCal Twitter account that the Verizon iPad 2 will be released on March 11.

More Android an' Droid Developers Needed - Bloomberg reported that Android developer this week became more sought-after than developers for Apple's iPhone, according to online job board Dice.com.

Twitter Updates iPhone App - Twitter has updated its iPhone/iPad app to 3.3 with a Quick Bar of trends and URL-shortening.  Tweet composition has been streamlined, and direct messages appear in a threaded style.  It also includes improved autocomplete, contact integration, preferences, and photo uploading. 

Google Maps Twittered and Pinged - Google has updated Google Maps for Android to 5.2.  It includes the ability to tweet Hotpot reviews from Hotpot and ping Latitude friends who are nearby.  Check-in has been improved with using the Search more places button.

Windows Phone 7 Update Failure (Again) - Updates for Samsung Windows Phones are still not working and was reported in the Windows Phone Answers forum.  Microsoft tweeted that it is looking into the problem.

Microsoft Bings Deals - Microsoft launched Bing Deals for desktop and mobile.  It aggregates leading offers form Groupon, Living Social, Restaurant.com and 100's deals in one place.  With a click on deal at m.bing.com, you'll see the top daily deals featured in your metro area.  You can also browse by category or keyword - narrowing down the numerous deals to your exact interests.

Free In-Flight Notebook Texting from InFlight Messenger - For a limited time, InFlight Messenger is offering free service.  The service enables airplane passengers to text and/or IM chat between a computer and mobile phones that are on the ground.  The software uses the airplane Wi-Fi service and converts messages typed onto a PC into text messages.  InFlight Messenger offers a time-stamped Message History, and a "Text Message Calendar" that enables a subscribing passenger to enter a business associate, family member or friend's schedule, appointments or events.
