The Droid Incredible 2 is now on sale at Verizon Wireless or HTC. We went through the Droid Incredible 2 user manual to find some interesting information, tips and tricks. The most interesting change from the original Droid Incredible is the new HTC Sense "apps" button that offers easy access to HTC Sense features.
Specs of the Droid Incredible 2 include a 4-inch WVGA (800
x480) touchscreen (previous Incredible had a 3.7"), an 8MP camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1GHz Qualcomm
processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, STR WOW HD surround sound, and a 1450mAh battery. The Droid Incredible 2 will supposedly be priced at $199.99.
The manual revealed that the 8-megapixel camera has a dual LED flash. You can use up to six home
screens. You can sync media using the V CAST Media Manager. Calendar,
contacts and other information that is synced can be executed through HTC Sync.
On the original Droid Incredible there is an up arrow button on the lower right, Phone and + button on the lower left. The Droid Incredible 2
has different onscreen buttons. On the lower left of the home screen is
a new quick-access "apps" button for HTC widgets with a menu that includes universal search, Quick Lookup, People, messages, Twitter, Friend
Stream, Google Talk, Gmail, Exchange Email, Calendar, Weather, 3G Mobile
Hotspot, Internet, camera, music, maps, Places and news (which we are
calling the grid button because it look like a grid). On the lower right-hand side is a paint button for scenes, widgets and folders.
Search Everywhere Not Just the Web
To search everything on the Droid Incredible 2, you tap (on the home
screen) the search anywhere icon that looks like a grid. You can also
select the type of search you are making, such as mail. You can also set
the search options icon for what you want searched. You can chose the
web search engine, search apps and search types.
Quick Lookup and Translate
Quick Lookup helps you learn about something right on the spot. When you
enter a new word or phrase, you can readily look it up in popular
websites or search services, such as Google Search, Wikipedia, YouTube,
Google Translate, and Google Dictionary. To Translate, tap
the grid button, select Quick Lookup, press the back button to hide the onscreen keyboard, and then slide to Translate, select the language and tap Translate.
HTC Caller ID Includes Social Updates
Every time you make a call or your friend gives you a ring, you get to see your friend's latest status update from social networks, like Facebook or Twitter, on the call screen.
People Hubbub
You tap the grid button and then People to setup contacts via Google or Microsot Exchange. You can also filter contacts. Because of massive functions through the People tab, we will cover HTC People in another tips article.
