Droid News: Samsung Droid Charge in Stealth Mode for Release?

Pocketnow.JPGA leaked press photo, displayed by PocketNow, showed the red Droid eye on a Verizon-branded Samsung smartphone, believed to be the Samsung Droid Charge.  However, the Super AMOLED Samsung Droid Charge smartphone is still in stealth mode (the act or action of proceeding furtively, secretly, or imperceptibly).

Because there has been no announcement from Verizon, we can be sure that the Samsung Droid Charge will not be released this week.  One source suggested an April 17 release date.

Verizon has been slow releasing its 4G LTE smartphones.  There was over a month delay for the HTC ThunderBolt.  Even with the long wait and short battery life, most HTC ThunderBolt owners found that 4G LTE speeds are worth the long wait.

When we reviewed 4G Networks, Verizon received 5Gs out of 5Gs for its
super fast network with some speed tests beating land-based broadband
internet access.

The Samsung Droid Charge is the toughest competitor to the well-reviewed HTC ThunderBolt that now holds the top smartphone
position at Verizon Wireless.  The most common name given to the
Samsung Galaxy S smartphone with a Super AMOLED touchscreen is the Samsung Stealth.

We compared the Samsung Droid 4G Charge to the HTC ThunderBolt
and discovered that the features it has over the HTC ThunderBolt are
the Super AMOLED touchscreen, HDMI port, and 1500mAH battery.  The
original announcement said it had Skype.

Powered by an Android 2.2 operating system, the Samsung 4G LTE Droid Charge hasa 1GHz processor, rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, and
front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for Skype video chat.  Other features
include 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus (800 x 480) touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
and GPS.

It appears in our list of top Android an' Droid phones now and later.
