When HTC announced the HTC Sensation, the next version of HTC Sense, HTC Sense 3 was announced. Through HTC tweets, it appears that the full version HTC Sense 3 will only work with the HTC Sensation, HTC EVO 3D and HTC Flyer.
To clarify the situation we contacted HTC.
"This is the biggest visual change we have made in HTC Sense since
it first came out. The newer features such as the highly animated
transitions require a lot of processing power, making it difficult to
bring to current devices," said Keith Nowak spokesman for HTC, "We may
update current devices with some features of the new version of HTC
Sense."
There was another tweet that tried to clarify the HTC Sense update: "Clarification:
aspects of the latest HTC Sense won't work on some previous devices. We
are working to incorporate other aspects that will."
An earlier tweet said "Unfortunately not, as the newest iteration of Sense requires specific hardware that our older phones just don't have. Sorry!"
Therefore, if you want all the iteration, you'll have to buy a newer, faster HTC smartphone or tablet.
HTC Sense has these new features:
- A customizable active lockscreen with window to and content that
acts a customizable gateway to the most used features, like making a
phone call, sending an email, taking a picture, social media updates and
news. - Sharper graphics.
- Vibrant animations and new widgets.
- Cinematic weather experience with imagery and audible weather effects.
The HTC Watch video rental and buying service was also announced. Trademark records show new trademark service names, HTC Listen and HTC Read, which most likely are a music and eBook service. We have no idea what the HTC Passion service will be.
