HTC and its products are in the news today. HTC is raking in profits from such hits as the HTC ThunderBolt, HTC Inspire, HTC Inspire and DROID Incredible. There are more HTC hit smartphones coming with a coming-out party in London. The HTC Merge has emerged on the Verizon website.
HTC tripled profits in the first quarter of this year. Revenue rose to
NT$104.2 billion. HTC reported Jan. 21 that it expected to ship 8.5 million
units for
the quarter, more than double that of a year earlier, and its
second-highest quarter sales following the 9.1 million sold in the fourth
quarter 2010. HTC smartphones accounted for 19 percent of market shipments
last year, reported Gartner.
HTC is planning a Facebook event, aka party in London, on April 12 when they are expected to announce the HTC Pyramid that will be called the HTC Sensation in the U.K.
The HTC London Meetup Facebook pages says "It is guaranteed to be a
sensory experience." Sensory may mean 3D with demonstrations of the HTC EVO 3D." Or it could mean the HTC Pyramid Sensation that you feel when you sense the power of a dual-core processor.
In the U.S., the HTC Pyramid/Sensation is expedted from T-Mobile in the United States. The HTC Pyramid is the higher-powered sister to the HTC ThunderBolt. Features of the HTC Pyramid include a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen, a dual-core 1.2GHz
processor, 768MB of RAM, an 8MP camera, and a 1.2MP front-facing camera.
