T-Mobile will release a Vanilla dual-core Android 4G smartphone, the T-Mobile G2x, on April 15. The version of Android is called "stock version" of Android 2.2 that will be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The smartphone is essentially a U.S. version of the LG Optimus 2X.
The G2x has a 4" touchscreen (480x800), 1GHZ dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 8GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot that supports expandable memory up to 32GB, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1, built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, Adobe Flash Player support, and a music player.The G2x will include NVIDIA's Tegra Zone app games optimized for the Tegra 2's dual-core architecture. It will feature HDMI mirroring that expands streamed video to 1080p HD quality on an HD TV.
The T-Mobile G2x with Google will be available online from T-Mobile April 15, 2011 and in stores April 20, 2011, for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two-year contract.
G2x comes preloaded with a full version of racing game Need for Speed SHIFT HD and a demo version of first-person sci-fi shooter Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance (NOVA).
Other smartphones that use the T-Mobile 4G network include the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile myTouch 4G and the T-Mobile G2. Many of these super fast smartphones appear in our Top Ten Best Android an' Droid Phones Now an' Later.
