T-Mobile G2x Update News: G2x Update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread Soon

T-Mobile G2X.JPGThe recently launched T-Mobile G2x will be getting an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread "soon."

T-Mobile announced via its Twitter feed that the "Gingerbread is coming to the G2x soon.  You won't have to wait very long."

The T-Mobile G2x is one of few Android smartphones currently out that has a 1GHz dual-core processor.  The G2x has a 4" touchscreen (480x800), 8GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot that supports expandable memory up to 32GB, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1, built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, Adobe Flash Player support, and a music player.

Features of Gingerbread include overall speed improvements, new copy/paste throughout, updated Google maps, backup of settings, improved voice commands, browser customization, quick links from browser, downloads manager, and battery usage features.  Read our Gingerbread tips article.The T-Mobile G2x with Google is available online from T-Mobile for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two-year contract.
