We have discovered that our readers love the HTC ThunderBolt, the only smartphone available on Verizon's super fast 5G-rated 4G LTE network. We've explored battery tips, social media tips and help deciding if you want to buy an HTC ThunderBolt or one of the other upcoming smartphones from Verizon.
Here are a few tips we found today that we love. We especially liked backing up your settings to Google in case of an emergency or reset.
Download HTC Sync Software - If you like to keep in sync with your synching, be sure to install HTC Sync software. HTC Sync syncs email, contacts and calendar from your computer.
New Battery Tips - Carry an extra fully-charged battery with you. Shut off the Blockbuster app. One user reported that the Blockbuster app was eating a lot of power. There are also some new turn-off 4G apps in the Android Market that we have not been able to review, yet.
Back Up Your Settings -
Sometimes the HTC ThunderBolt has to reset, and then you lose all
your apps. Under settings, Privacy, you can back up your settings. If
you have a Google account, such as Gmail, go to
Settings > Accounts > Syncs, and add Google account, then enter your
Google user information. One HTC ThunderBolt user found it to work like a
charm.
Verizon Backup Assistant - Verizon Backup Assistant automatically backs up your contacts to an online server. You must first create an account on the Verizon Wireless website. Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings. Scroll down the screen, and then tap Accounts & sync. Tap Backup Assistant. Follow the instructions on the screen to sign in to Backup Assistant and back up your contacts.
There is a known low audio problem while recording video that has a temporary fix.
