Concerned about the recent location tracking scare, Verizon Wireless sent a letter to congress saying that, to keep customers aware of tracking location data, stickers will be applied to Verizon smartphones and cell phones.
"This device is capable of determining its (and your) physical, geographical, location adn can associate location data with other customer information. To limit access to location information by others, refer to the User Guide for Location settings and be cautious when downloading, accessing, or using applications and services."
V Cast apps will also contain alerts. Verizon Wireless Family Locator app with geo-fencing requires consent for all devices. NFL Mobile app requires consent because some customers are in "black-out" areas. Verizon also pointed out that customers can chose on-device location privacy settings. Customers can learn about Verizon Privacy policies online.
