Verizon Wireless has launched a new unlimited prepaid service named "Verizon Unleashed" that offers unlimited voice calls, texting, web access and data for $50 per month.
The services works with prepaid Verizon feature phones - the LG Accolade ($39.99), LG Cosmos slide-out QWERTY candy bar phone ($99.99), and QWERTY-keyboarded Pantech Caper ($79.99).
Verizon also offers per-day deals at $1.99 per day for unlimited talking to any number, with 2 cents per text and mobile Web browsing for 99 cents per day. The other option is 99 cents per day for unlimited calling to Verizon phones or 10 cents per minute to other carriers, while texting costs 10 cents per message to other phones, and mobile Web browsing costs 99 cents per day.
Currently, the service is only available in parts of Florida and Southern California.
I think its awesome that the prepaid wireless market is becoming more competitive. And just when Sprint pulls their Common Cents plan too - good timing. Although, if it was really good timing, then there'd be more than just Tracfone to monopolize this market. Still neither verizon, tmob, or sprint can really compete with Straight talk's unlimited plan. Maybe boost can, but only because they reward loyalty.
