AT&T to LTE in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta & San Antonio

AT&T's current mobile broadband service, that they call 4G (HSPA+), is much slower than Verizon's 4G LTE network or T-Mobile's HSPA+, which will change.

AT&T, today, revealed the first metros to get LTE mobile broadband - Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and San Antonio.

AT&T plans to cover 70 million users and 15 total markets, including the
five launch cites, by the end of the year.

AT&T also has
plans to add 20 4G devices, with some of those being LTE capable.  AT&T LTE tests have been shown to indicate 28 Mbps down and 10.4 Mbps up.

Rumors suggest that New York and Los Angeles may be the next markets launched in June or July.
