Droid News: Droid Bionic Brain Transplanted from Galaxy S? Punked - Delayed Release Date

DroidBionicPunked.jpgThe Droid Bionic release date was delayed for "remodeling."  Rumors abound as to what the "problem" was.  Some thought it was over-heating issues, while others now think that the Nividia Tegra 2 processor has "issues" with Verizon's 4G LTE network.

NenaMark benchmark tests show a Droid Bionic with an an Imagination Technologies' PowerVR SGX 540 GPU submitted by, none other than, anonymous running Android 2.3.

The same processor showed up for the Droid 3.  The PowerVR SGX 540 GPU on NenaMark is shown (on the graphic) for all the Samsung Galxay S smartphones, including the Samsung Vibrant, Captivate, and Epic 4G.  Click on the graphic to see the listings.
It wouldn't make sense for Motorola to release the Droid Bionic yet, announced in 2010 with a dual-core out-of-date processor.  As our friends know, in our business few reporters check the facts.  There may be a way to spoof NenaMark - and thus reporters.  In other words, blogosphere, you've been punked.

Previously announced specs of the Droid Bionic include a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen,.an HDMI-out 1080p connection, a front-facing VGA webcam 8MP camera, 512MB RAM and 4GLTE.  It should also come with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Droid Bionic is part of the Verizon clan that includes the Samsung Droid Charge, Droid X2, Droid Incredible 2 and the Droid 3.

Verizon has so many smartphones right now that we had to make a huge chart to compare them all, which we are still working on and are previewing on Facebook.  The chart is a lot of work, and we hope that you show your appreciation by liking us on Facebook.
