Droid X2 rated 3.5 out of 5 by Wireless and Mobile News' Review of Reviews
The Droid X2 is the second generation of the very popular Droid X, and all the reviewers we reviewed rated it 3.5 and noted that, although it runs a speedy processor, the slower 3G network puts the brakes on internet connections and is the deal-breaker for buyers. Reviewers all liked the clear touchscreen, MotoBlur, HDMI mirroring, and dual-core processor. They also noted the clear, good voice quality.
Some reviewers thought the camera was excellent, while others thought it was poor. Two reviewer thought that the Droid X2 had good battery life, while one reported that the dual-core processor ate up battery juice, making the battery life shorter than the Droid X.
The Droid X2 comes with the Quickoffice suite, the Amazon Kindle app for
Android, Skype Mobile, Slacker, and various Verizon services, such as V
Cast Music and Video and VZ Navigator.
Droid X2 features include an 8-megapixel camera, FM radio, HDMI port, 2GB of secure storage with 6GB
of non-removable
shared storage, mobile hotspots, an 8GB microSD card preinstalled, GPS,
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 1540mAh battery. It offers HDMI mirroring but will only show 720p and 1080 video that is stored on the phone.
The two best features of the Droid X2 are the dual-core processor and HDMI mirroring. Reviewers suggested that, if you live in an area where this is no 4G LTE, it may be your best smartphone choice. Verizon has so many smartphones right now that we had to make a huge chart to compare them all, which we are still working on and are previewing on Facebook. The chart is a lot of work, and we hope that you show your appreciation by liking us on Facebook.

Sascha Segan at PCMag rated the Droid X2 by Motorola 3.5 out of 5 for its fast processor, build, great camera and HDMI mirroring. He didn't like the absence of 4G and some performance glitches with HD video recording/games. He called it beautiful and powerful. The 960x540 touchscreen makes text and images very clear and sharp. It has very good voice quality. The speaker phone was quiet. He liked the Motorola UI, but it caused stuttering. Only locally stored videos play in 720p and 1080 during HDMI monitoring. Photo quality was sharp. He found it hard to reccomend the top-of-the line processor with a slow-lane internet 3G connection.
Bonnie Cha at CNET rated the Droid X2 3.5 out of 5 for its crisp, clean qHD stouchscreen, dual-core processor and good call quality. She didn't like the lack of 4G support and front-facing camera, or its bulkiness and Motorola UI. She commented that the good battery life makes its solid. Game play was smooth and responses were snappy. Photo quality could be better. Speakerphone quality was impressive. She suggests 4G LTE-supported phones, such HTC ThunderBolt, Samsung Droid Charge, or the future-coming Droid Bionic instead.
Mark Spoonauer at Laptop rated the Droid X2 3.5 out of 5, pointing out that it packs a dual-core processor but lacks 4G LTE. He didn't like that it lacks a dedicated camera button but liked the on-screen keyboard. Benchmark tests were impressive. He like the HDMI mirroring showing what was on the screen on an HD TV. Some photos were blurry. Battery life is was lower than the original Droid X because of the dual-core processor. He thought the MotoBlur software made it user-friendly but didn't like the lack of the front-facing camera. He called it a solid sequel but not a blockbuster.
