The FCC has approved what appears to be the HP Pre3. This HP Pre3 is a quad-band GSM and CDMA smartphone for global roaming, suggesting that it will be sold by Verizon Wireless. A GSM-only HP Pre3 for AT&T already passed through the FCC.
HP is marketing the new HP Pre3 with HP webOS 2.3 to professionals who want mobile and personal productivity.
The HP Pre3 is a QWERTY portrait slider with a 3.6-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen that comes with a front-facing camera for video calling, a 5MP camera with autofocus/HD video, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, world phone capabilities, and a 1230mAh battery. The processor is a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM 8x55.
The HP Pre3 will come in 8GB and 16GB versions and is expected to have a June release date, according to HP Reps and tweets.
