The HTC EVO 3D is going to be a very popular smartphone. The price, specs and many features have been revealed, but no release date has been officially announced.
A leaked Sprint Playbook, at Android Central for dealers, shows the release of the HTC EVO 3D to be week 4 of June. Sprint release dates are usually Fridays, and the original EVO, the EVO 4G, was released on Friday, June 5, 2010. If Sprint keeps with its traditions, that would mean a Friday, June 24 release date.
The HTC EVO 3D is expected to ship with an unlocked bootlaoder.
The Sprint website shows a summer release. Since June 21 is officially
the first day of summer, the release date could in fact be June 24.
Next week's RadioShack first page shows an add to preorder the EVO 3D, suggesting that it will not go on sale next week. It shows a URL that is not yet live.
A leaked promotional piece showed the price of the HTC EVO 3D to be $199
and $100 off with a trade-in of an HTC EVO Shift 4G or HTC EVO 4G
and $10 a month premium data add-on. It will come with a free
preloaded copy of The Green Hornet in 3D and a download of the Black
Eyed Peas song Phenomenon.
The HTC EVO 3D has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core
processor and dual 5-megapixel cameras, which can be used to capture
both conventional and 3D images and videos. Features include a
1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 3G/4G mobile hotspots, Google Voice
for Sprint, 4GB Internal memory/1GB RAM, microSD slot (supports up to
32GB memory card), Wi-Fi, Stereo Bluetooth, GPS, DLNA, HDMI port and
a 1730mAh Lithium-ion battery.
The HTC EVO 3D is one of a few dual-core processor smartphones that will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It appears on our list of the Top Best Android an' Droid Smartphones Now an' Later.
Yes, this is the exact same thing I heard from a Best Buy employee Saturday night. He said in no uncertain terms that they received a bulletin stating an absolute release date of June 24th. Then he showed me the statement cause I basically begged him to prove it...LOL! Looking forward to my new smartphone!!!
The heading at the top of the magazine means the 4th week of May, the week the magazine was made. I still say June 4th-June14th. My only question is, has this phone hit the FCC yet? If not then, no wonder it hasn't been released yet.
