Mainly Only One Tablet User Says Nielsen - While the iPad continues to dominate market over the Motorola Xoom, Nielsen studied tablet usage. Around half of all tablet owners reported that their tablet was the only onee in their household. When asked whether they used other connected devices more often or less often since purchasing a tablet, 35 percent of tablet owners, who also owned a desktop computer, reported using their desktop less often or not at all.
Android Ruled Market Says Canalys - Android led the market for the second-quarter running, and with 35.7 million units shipped, increased its share to 35%, reported Canalys. Nokia, Apple, RIM, Samsung and HTC were the top five global smartphone vendors, as in Q4 2010. Apple continued to make market share gains, reaching 19%.
