ShopKick to Kick @ Best Buy
- Users of the the shopkick shopping app will be rewarded for walking into any Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores nationwide.  The shopkick Signal, an inaudible sound emitted from a device located at Best Buy, verifies that a user is in-store and then rewards them for visiting - in the form of a currency called "kicks."Verizon Will Wi-Fi & 4G LTE-Only - Verizon CTO Tony Melone said at TIA that Verizon is hoping that users will transition from cellular data services to Wi-Fi data when in their homes or large public places, such as sports arenas.  He also said that, if LTE goes well, Verizon may offer 4G LTE-ony phones as soon as 2013.

Next iPhone Announced 8/24? - An iPhone equipment supplier hinted at a September launch for the next iPhone.  There is also a tradition that new iPhones are announced 79 days after a new iOS.

Sony Xperia Play Update Next Week
- Android 2.3 will be coming to European Sony Xperia Play smartphones next week.  The Sony Xperia Play launches in the U.S. with Android 2.3 already installed.

iPad Wine Selection - The creators of SmartCellar debuted their new technology, which allows fine diners to make wine selections from an Apple iPad industry-wide, at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago this week.
