Droid Update News: Samsung Droid Charge Update - Mobile Hotspots Restored & Glitches Fixed

SamsungDroidChargeUpdate.JPGVerizon Wireless has released an update (EE4) for the Samsung Droid Charge with glitch fixes and improvements.

The most important fix is that Samsung Droid Charge owners will be able to create mobile hotspots, a feature that was lost in May.

The Samsung Droid Charge is part of the Verizon Awesome 4G-Threesome of LTE smartphones and is the only smartphone with a Super AMOLED touchscreen.

Features of the Samsung Droid Charge update include a better battery life for calls, call return, sending unwanted calls directly to voice mail, better 4G connections, enhanced browser, email/calendar sync improvements, GPS improvement and restoration of mobile hotspots capability.
Verizon refers to the update as a "mandatory system update."  The software
size is 8.8MB and takes 2 to 5 minutes to download and 2.5 minutes to
install.  You will receive s notice of the update, or you will not be
able to get the update over-the-air (OTA) while roaming.

As with
all Droid Updates, make sure that your Droid is at least 40% charged, and
back up your data first.  You will not be able to make emergency calls
during the update.
