The update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is now available for the HTC EVO 4G from Sprint. In order to download the update, you can check for it. Notifications will be sent out tomorrow, June 6.
Once the update is completed, Netflix no longer works, and there are problems clearing the voicemail notifications. If you are a heavy Netflix user, we suggest that you wait to install the update.
A Netflix Tweet reports that they are working on the issue. The Sprint HTC EVO 4G Forum reports a workaround for clearing the voice notifications glitch.
The update includes the download manager, SMS bug fixes, battery improvements and Gmail Fox synching on multiple accounts.
From the main
menu, Tap Menu> Tap Settings> Tap System
updates> Tap HTC Software update> Tap Check Now> Tap OK> Tap Yes. Be sure that your EVO 4G is at least 40% charged and back up your data first.
To clear voicemal notifications, use this workaround: Settings/Call/Clear Notifications.
